Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: Highlights the ‘rāja-upacāra’ mode of honoring Śiva—lavish yet dhārmic service (seva) as a means of accruing puṇya and cultivating devotion.
It highlights the bhakti-principle of offering the best possible, pure and pleasing arrangements in a sacred setting—outer refinement reflecting inner reverence toward Pati (Shiva).
Such fine spreads and cushions indicate honoring Saguna Shiva through tangible, beautiful upacāras (services), where devotion is expressed via orderly, auspicious, and clean offerings around the worship-space.
Prepare a clean, pleasing worship area (āsana/āstaraṇa) for pūjā; then perform mantra-japa—especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—with steadiness and purity of mind.
