Thereafter, one should worship Lord Vināyaka in due order with offerings of sweets, foods, and the like. Having honored him according to the prescribed rite, one should place him at the right side of the doorway.

It teaches that Shaiva worship should begin by honoring Vināyaka, the remover of obstacles, so the devotee’s intention, ritual order, and inner steadiness become fit for approaching Shiva’s grace.
It presents Vināyaka-pūjā as a preliminary limb (aṅga) of Saguna worship: by completing the prescribed sequence and directions, the devotee harmonizes the outer rite before proceeding to the main Shiva/Liṅga worship.
Offer bhakṣya and bhojya (especially sweet offerings) to Vināyaka first, following proper vidhi, and place his worship/seat at the right side of the entrance—then proceed to the principal Shaiva worship (with mantra-japa such as Om Namaḥ Śivāya where applicable).
