The mantra-based initiation (dīkṣā), together with its prescribed ritual actions, must first be arranged with the fire-pit (kuṇḍa) and the sacred maṇḍala. For disciples of dull and duller capacity, the Guru should perform it externally (through outward rites).
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Offering: dhupa
It teaches adhikāra-bheda (difference in spiritual capacity): the Guru adapts Śaiva dīkṣā so the disciple can be led from outward discipline toward inner realization of Pati (Śiva) and liberation from pāśa (bondage).
By emphasizing kuṇḍa and maṇḍala, it supports saguna, form-based worship and rite-guided initiation as a compassionate entry point, preparing the disciple to internalize worship and perceive Śiva beyond mere externals.
A formal mantra-dīkṣā conducted by a qualified Guru, preceded by establishing a kuṇḍa (fire rite) and a maṇḍala (sacred diagram), especially for beginners who benefit from structured external observances.
