रुद्रस्य रणप्रवेशः तथा दैत्यगणानां बाणवृष्टिः
Rudra Enters the Battlefield; the Daityas’ Arrow-Storm
तन्मृत्युभयमुत्सार्य युध्यध्वं समरे मुदा । सर्वथा परमानन्द इहामुत्राप्यसंशयः
tanmṛtyubhayamutsārya yudhyadhvaṃ samare mudā | sarvathā paramānanda ihāmutrāpyasaṃśayaḥ
Cast away that fear of death and fight in the battle with gladness. In every way there will be supreme bliss—here in this world and also hereafter—without any doubt.
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Role: liberating
The verse teaches vairāgya and śaraṇāgati: when one casts out the fear of death and stands in dharma with a steady mind, Shiva grants paramānanda—inner freedom in this life and auspicious attainment beyond death.
Saguna Shiva, as the compassionate Lord who guides devotees, instructs them to replace death-fear with trust in Him. Linga-worship trains this steadiness by fixing awareness on Shiva as Pati (the Lord) beyond the changing body, making action fearless and dharmic.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to calm death-anxiety and strengthen courage, along with Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and Rudrākṣa as reminders of impermanence and devotion while acting firmly in one’s duty.
