पूजाविधिः
Pūjā-vidhiḥ) — The Supreme Procedure of Worship (Morning Observances
पुष्पांजलिं समर्प्यैव पुनः कुर्यान्नतिं मुहुः । स्वस्थानं गच्छ देवेश परिवारयुतः प्रभो । पूजाकाले पुनर्नाथ त्वया गंतव्यमादरात् । इति संप्रार्थ्य वहुशश्शंकरं भक्तवत्सलम्
puṣpāṃjaliṃ samarpyaiva punaḥ kuryānnatiṃ muhuḥ | svasthānaṃ gaccha deveśa parivārayutaḥ prabho | pūjākāle punarnātha tvayā gaṃtavyamādarāt | iti saṃprārthya vahuśaśśaṃkaraṃ bhaktavatsalam
Having offered a handful of flowers, one should again bow repeatedly and pray: “O Lord of the gods, O Master—go now to Your own abode together with Your retinue. Yet, O Lord, at the time of worship You should again be gracious to come, out of compassion.” Thus, again and again, one entreats Śaṅkara, who is ever affectionate to His devotees.

It teaches that worship is completed with humility and loving reverence—offering flowers, repeated prostrations, and heartfelt prayer—affirming Śiva as the gracious Pati who responds to sincere bhakti.
In saguna/linga worship, the devotee ritually invites Śiva’s presence for pūjā and then respectfully requests Him to return to His abode—this “visarjana” preserves sanctity while affirming that Śiva remains ever-accessible to devotion.
Offer puṣpāñjali, perform repeated namaskāra, and conclude with a respectful request for Śiva’s departure and return at the next pūjā—ideally accompanied by remembrance of the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
