सेवातत्त्वप्रश्नः — The Question of Whom to Serve (Sevā) for the Removal of Suffering
भेदो जलानां लोकेऽस्मिन्प्रतिभावे विचारतः । एवमाहुस्तथा चान्ये सर्वे वेदार्थतत्त्वगाः
bhedo jalānāṃ loke'sminpratibhāve vicārataḥ | evamāhustathā cānye sarve vedārthatattvagāḥ
In this world, the waters appear many and diverse; yet upon careful reflection, that diversity is known to lie only in their modes of manifestation. Thus declare those who have discerned the true purport of the Vedas—and so too do other knowers of that Vedic reality.
Suta Goswami (narrating the doctrinal teaching of the Veda-knowers within the Srishti Khanda context)
Tattva Level: pasha
It teaches discernment (vicāra): the world’s multiplicity is experienced as varied “appearances,” while deeper inquiry reveals an underlying unity known to Veda-realizers—supporting the Shaiva pursuit of right knowledge that leads toward liberation.
Just as water seems many due to forms and conditions, the One Shiva is approached through many saguna forms and the Linga. Linga-worship trains the mind to see the single Pati behind diverse manifestations.
Practice vicāra alongside japa of the Panchakshara—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and meditate on the Linga as the one Reality appearing through many names and forms, cultivating steady discrimination amid worldly variety.
