Sūta said: Hearing thus the words of that sage, whose inner being was purified and contemplative, Brahmā became even more pleased and then spoke in reply.

It highlights that a purified, spiritually cultivated mind (bhāvitātmā) makes divine dialogue fruitful—Brahmā responds with greater clarity and grace when approached through sincere tapas, humility, and inner refinement.
Though the verse names Brahmā, the Shaiva narrative framework emphasizes that right understanding of Saguna Shiva (including Linga worship) arises when the seeker’s mind is purified; then higher teachings are revealed in an auspicious, pleasing manner.
The takeaway is inner purification through japa and discipline—especially steady mantra-recitation (such as the Panchakshara, Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and contemplative restraint—so the mind becomes bhāvitātmā and fit for receiving Shiva-tattva teachings.
