Because you are the cause of spring’s inner delight, let this one be known by the name “Vasanta.” Your appointed work shall be to follow in His wake and to gladden the worlds.
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Tatpuruṣa
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It shows Shiva as Pati (the Lord) who ordains the harmonious rhythms of creation—assigning names and duties so the worlds are sustained through joy, order, and dharma.
The verse reflects Saguna Shiva’s sovereign activity (niyamanam): the same Lord worshipped in the Linga is the one who governs cosmic functions and bestows purposeful roles for the welfare of beings.
A practical takeaway is seva-bhāva (devotional service): align one’s actions with Shiva’s order through japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and cultivate lokānurañjana—benefiting others as an offering to Shiva.
