kulasya saṃpadaścaiva śruteścittasamunnateḥ | vyadhatta sukriyā dakṣaḥ prītyā puṃsavanādikāḥ
For the prosperity of the lineage, for conformity with the Vedic ordinances, and for the uplift of the mind, Dakṣa joyfully arranged the auspicious sacraments—beginning with the puṃsavana rite and the rest.
Sūta Gosvāmi (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pasha
It presents saṃskāras as dharmic supports for citta-samunnati (uplift and refinement of the mind), preparing one for devotion and right understanding—key aids on the Shaiva path toward Shiva’s grace.
By emphasizing Vedic order and inner uplift, the verse frames household dharma as a foundation that steadies bhakti; such purity and discipline naturally mature into reverent worship of Saguna Shiva (including Linga-pūjā) as the accessible doorway to the Supreme.
The verse points to performing prescribed saṃskāras with joyful sincerity for chitta-śuddhi; as a practical Shaiva takeaway, pair daily dharma with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to stabilize the mind and deepen devotion.
