The Devīs (a group of goddesses) addressing Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Mantra: भक्तवत्सलनामा त्वं दीनबन्धुर्दयानिधिः । काम जीवय सोत्साहां रति कुरु नमोऽस्तु ते
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It presents Shiva as Pati—the compassionate Lord and refuge of beings—whose grace restores order and hope when devotees surrender and pray with humility.
The verse addresses Shiva in a personal, Saguna manner—‘bhakta-vatsala’ and ‘dayānidhi’—the same accessible Lord worshipped through the Shiva-linga as the living focus of grace and blessing.
A simple bhakti-prayoga is implied: offer salutations (namaḥ), recite the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and petition Shiva for compassion and restoration of auspiciousness (śiva-kṛpā).
