युद्धप्रारम्भवर्णनम् — Description of the Commencement of Battle
मही महारौद्रतरा विनष्टकैस्सुरासुरैर्वै पतितैरनेकशः । तस्मिन्नगम्यातिभयानका तदा जाता महासौख्यवहा मनस्विनाम्
mahī mahāraudratarā vinaṣṭakaissurāsurairvai patitairanekaśaḥ | tasminnagamyātibhayānakā tadā jātā mahāsaukhyavahā manasvinām
The earth became exceedingly dreadful, strewn in many places with the fallen bodies of devas and asuras who had been destroyed. Yet, in that very scene—unapproachable and terrifying as it was—there then arose a cause of great blessedness and inner joy for the steadfast-minded, for the Lord’s higher purpose was being fulfilled.

It teaches that even when the world appears overwhelmed by destruction and fear, the steadfast-minded discern Shiva’s hidden grace—events that look terrifying can still become instruments of higher good and spiritual ripening.
By implying that the Lord’s manifest governance (Saguna Shiva) turns chaos into order and welfare, it supports Linga-worship as a stabilizing refuge—devotion anchors the mind so it can perceive auspicious meaning even in frightening circumstances.
Maintain steadiness through japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and contemplative remembrance of Shiva’s protective lordship; this cultivates the ‘manasvin’ quality that converts fear into inner peace.
