Brahmā said: Having spoken thus, that Gaṇeśa—the son of Pārvatī, endowed with excellent understanding—then fell silent; the great knower, the foremost among the intelligent.

It highlights the Shaiva ideal that true jñāna culminates in measured speech and inner stillness—wisdom is not merely eloquence, but disciplined awareness aligned to dharma and devotion.
By praising Gaṇeśa (a revered Saguna form within Shaiva tradition) as supremely intelligent and restrained, the text models the devotee’s attitude before Saguna Shiva—humility, clarity, and readiness to receive grace rather than display pride.
A practical takeaway is mauna (sacred silence) after japa—especially after reciting the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—allowing the mind to settle in Śiva-bhāva with steady attention.
