गणेश-षण्मुखयोः विवाहविचारः / Deliberation on the Marriages of Gaṇeśa and Ṣaṇmukha
अहं च परिणेष्यामि ह्यहं चैव पुनः पुनः । परस्परं च नित्यं वै विवादे तत्परावुभौ
ahaṃ ca pariṇeṣyāmi hyahaṃ caiva punaḥ punaḥ | parasparaṃ ca nityaṃ vai vivāde tatparāvubhau
“I too shall marry (her); indeed, again and again I declare, ‘I alone shall marry (her).’” Thus both were ever engaged in mutual quarrel, intent on dispute.

The verse highlights how egoic insistence (“I alone”) breeds constant conflict; Shaiva teaching urges dissolving ahamkāra through devotion to Pati (Shiva) and alignment with dharma, so the mind becomes fit for grace and liberation.
In Saguna Shiva worship, the devotee brings rivalry and agitation to the Linga as an offering of surrender; the Linga symbolizes the steady, conflict-free consciousness of Shiva, before whom pride and possessiveness are to be relinquished.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchakshara mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to pacify competitive impulses, along with simple bhasma/tripuṇḍra remembrance of impermanence to reduce quarrelsome ego.
