तारक-कुमार-युद्धवर्णनम् / Description of the Battle between Tāraka and Kumāra
एवं सर्वं दैत्यसैन्यं भ्रष्टं जातं मुनीश्वर । न केचित्तत्र संतस्थुर्गणदेवभयात्तदा
evaṃ sarvaṃ daityasainyaṃ bhraṣṭaṃ jātaṃ munīśvara | na kecittatra saṃtasthurgaṇadevabhayāttadā
Thus, O lord among sages, the entire host of the Daityas fell into confusion and was broken. Then none of them dared to stand there, terrified of the divine Gaṇas.
Sūta Gosvāmin
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Bhairava
The verse highlights how adharma-driven power (the Daityas) collapses when confronted by Śiva’s śakti expressed through His Gaṇas; spiritually, it points to the downfall of ego and hostility when the soul meets the Lord’s disciplined divine order (Pati’s governance).
The Gaṇas represent Saguna Śiva’s accessible, protective presence in the world—His living power that safeguards dharma; worship of the Liṅga similarly trains the devotee to take refuge in Śiva as the supreme protector and inner ruler beyond demonic tendencies.
A practical takeaway is refuge through japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steadiness, along with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) remembrance of impermanence—cultivating fearlessness and surrender to Śiva’s guardianship.
