Shloka 2.98.15
चित्रकूटप्रवेशः — Bharata Enters the Forest Toward Chitrakuta
स तानि द्रुमजालानि जातानि गिरिसानुषु।पुष्पिताग्राणि मध्येन जगाम वदतां वरः।।2.98.15।।
evam uktvā mahātejā bharataḥ puruṣarṣabhaḥ |
padbhyām eva mahābāhuḥ praviveśa mahādvanam ||2.98.14||
Having spoken thus, Bharata—the radiant, mighty-armed bull among men—entered the great forest on foot.
Bharata, the best among the eloquent, made his way amidst multitude of trees grown on mountain slopes with their tops in full bloom.
Dharma is shown as humility and urgency in rightful duty—Bharata proceeds personally, not relying on royal ease, to reach Rama.
After praising Rama, Lakṣmaṇa, Sītā, and Chitrakūṭa, Bharata physically enters the forest to approach the hermitage.
Bharata’s earnestness and reverence—choosing to go on foot—are emphasized.
