मन्दाकिनीनदीदर्शनम् (The Vision of the Mandākinī at Citrakūṭa)
मृगयूथनिपीतानि कलुषाम्भांसि साम्प्रतम्।तीर्थानि रमणीयानि रतिं सञ्जनयन्ति मे।।।।
mṛgayūthanipītāni kaluṣāmbhāṃsi sāmpratam | tīrthāni ramaṇīyāni ratiṃ sañjanayanti me ||
Even now, the waters are clouded where herds of deer have drunk; yet these lovely fords and landing-places awaken delight in me.
The herds of deer have just drunk water by descending down the landing places and the waters are still turbid. This sight produces great pleasure in me.
Dharma is the disciplined gaze that sees goodness without demanding perfection: Rāma finds joy even in small, ordinary signs of life, reflecting inner steadiness and truthful acceptance of the forest’s reality.
Rāma points out that deer have recently drunk at the river’s fords, making the water slightly turbid, and yet he delights in the scene.
Prasāda (serene clarity) and adaptability—Rāma’s calm appreciation of simple, natural life during exile.
