Shloka 2.93.8
चित्रकूटमार्गवर्णनम् — Bharata’s Army Reaches Chitrakuta and Searches for Rama
अयं गिरिश्चित्रकूट इयं मन्दाकिनी नदी। एतत्प्रकाशते दूरान्नीलमेघनिभं वनम्।।2.93.8।।
vyavasthitā yā bharatena sā camūr nirīkṣamāṇā ’pi ca bhūmim agrataḥ | babhūva hṛṣṭā na cireṇa jānatī priyasya rāmasya samāgamaṃ tadā || 2.93.27 ||
The army that Bharata had made halt—though still watching the ground ahead—rejoiced then, knowing that before long they would meet their beloved Rāma.
This mountain is Chitrakuta and this river, Mandakini. The forest shines from a distance like a blue cloud.
Dharma is supported by loyal affection: the troops’ joy at rejoining Rāma reflects allegiance to the rightful, dharmic figure rather than mere power.
While halted, the army anticipates an imminent reunion with Rāma and becomes joyful.
Viśvāsa and bhakti-like loyalty—collective devotion to Rāma as the beloved and morally authoritative prince.
