चित्रकूटमार्गवर्णनम् — Bharata’s Army Reaches Chitrakuta and Searches for Rama

तच्छ्रुत्वा भरतस्तेषां वचनं साधुसम्मतम्। सैन्यानुवाच सर्वांस्तानमित्रबलमर्दनः।।2.93.24।।

sa sampratasthē dharmātmā prīto daśarathātmajaḥ | vṛto mahatyā nādinyā senayā caturaṅgayā || 2.93.3 ||

Then Bharata, the righteous son of Daśaratha, set out in gladness, surrounded by a great clamorous army of the four divisions.

Having heard these words acceptable to the pious, Bharata, the crusher of enemy forces, addressed the entire army:

B
Bharata
D
Daśaratha
C
caturaṅga-senā (fourfold army)

Dharma is framed as purposeful action: Bharata moves forward as a dharmātmā, indicating that rightful duty is pursued with resolve, even amid political and military power.

Bharata begins his onward journey, accompanied by a large four-division army, as the story moves toward the meeting with Rāma.

Dharma-niṣṭhā (steadfast commitment to righteousness) paired with leadership—he proceeds decisively while bearing responsibility for a vast force.
