Shloka 2.91.53

भरद्वाजाश्रमे भरतसैन्यस्य दिव्यात्मिथ्यम् / Divine Hospitality to Bharata’s Army at Bharadvaja’s Hermitage

सुरास्सुरापाः पिबत पायसं च बुभुक्षिताः।।2.91.52।।मांसानि च सुमेध्यानि भक्ष्यन्तां यावदिच्छथ।।2.91.53।।

māṁsāni ca sumedhyāni bhakṣyantāṁ yāvad icchatha॥2.91.53॥

And let the sacred, duly sanctioned meats be eaten, as much as you desire.

'O wine drinkers, drink as much as you can those who are hungry partake payasam and sacred meat'.

M
māṁsa (meat)

The verse qualifies the food as “sumedhya”—ritually fit and sanctioned—indicating consumption within a prescribed rite or accepted custom, not indulgence outside dharma.

Satya appears as straightforward acknowledgment of what is actually being provided and permitted in the ritual context—no concealment or hypocrisy about the offerings made for the rite.
