Shloka 2.91.27

भरद्वाजाश्रमे भरतसैन्यस्य दिव्यात्मिथ्यम् / Divine Hospitality to Bharata’s Army at Bharadvaja’s Hermitage

स शब्दो द्यां च भूमिं च प्राणिनां श्रवणानि च।विवेशोच्चरितश्श्लक्ष्णस्समो लयसमन्वितः।।।।

athovāca bharadvājo bharataṃ prahasann iva |

jāne tvāṃ prītisaṃyuktaṃ tuṣyes tvaṃ yena kenacit ||

Then Bharadvāja said to Bharata with a gentle, smiling air: “I know you are filled with affection, and that you are satisfied with whatever is offered.”

That soft, melodious, rhythmic and wellmodulated sound entered the heaven and earth as well as the ears of all living beings.

Contentment and gracious acceptance: Bharata is portrayed as one who does not demand luxury, aligning with dharma through humility and restraint.

Bharadvāja addresses Bharata during the latter’s journey with an army, receiving him as a guest and assessing his disposition.

Bharata’s simplicity and contentment (saṃtoṣa), rooted in affection and respectful conduct.
