मन्थराप्रेरणा—वरद्वय-स्मरणं च (Manthara’s Provocation and the Recalling of Two Boons)

श्रुत्वैवं वचनं तस्या मन्थरायास्तु कैकेयी।किञ्चिदुत्थाय शयनात्स्वास्तीर्णादिदमब्रवीत्।।।।

śrutvaivaṃ vacanaṃ tasyā mantharāyāstu kaikeyī |

kiñcidutthāya śayanātsvāstīrṇādidamabravīt ||

Hearing Mantharā’s words, Kaikeyī rose slightly from her well-spread bed and spoke as follows.

After hearing Manthara's words, Kaikeyi got up a little from her well-spread bed and said this:

K
Kaikeyi
M
Manthara

Kaikeyi rose after hearing the words of her maid, Manthara.

It implies the bed was 'well-spread' or luxurious, highlighting the comfort Kaikeyi was in before being disturbed by Manthara's scheming.
