गङ्गातरणम् — Bharata’s Ferrying of the Army across the Ganga
सवैजयन्तास्तु गजा गजारोहप्रचोदिताः।तरन्त स्स्म प्रकाशन्ते सध्वजा इव पर्वताः।।।।
savaijayantās tu gajā gajārōha-pracoditāḥ | tarantaḥ sma prakāśante sadhvajā iva parvatāḥ ||
The elephants, adorned with banners and urged on by their riders, crossed the water, shining like mountains crowned with flags.
The elephants, embellished with banners and goaded by their mahouts lookedsplendid like mountains with banners while crossing in the water.
Dharma is orderly royal conduct: even in travel and hardship, the retinue maintains discipline and coordinated movement, reflecting governance through order.
