गुहसंवादः—रामस्य रात्रिवासवर्णनम् (Dialogue with Guha: Account of Rama’s Night Halt)
तदवस्थं तु भरतं शत्रुघ्नोऽनन्तरस्थितः।परिष्वज्य रुरोदोच्चैर्विसंज्ञश्शोककर्शितः।।।।
tadavasthaṃ tu bharataṃ śatrughno ’nantara-sthitaḥ |
pariṣvajya rurodoccair visaṃjñaḥ śoka-karśitaḥ ||
Seeing Bharata in that condition, Śatrughna, standing close by, embraced him and cried aloud; wasted by grief, he lost consciousness.
Seeing Bharata in that state, Satrughna who was standing close by, smitten with grief clasped him, cried loudly and fell senseless.
Dharma is expressed as solidarity in family suffering—standing by one’s kin in crisis, offering physical and emotional support rather than judgment.
Bharata collapses in grief; Śatrughna, nearby, holds him and breaks down as well.
Fraternal loyalty and compassion: Śatrughna’s immediate embrace shows protective love and shared responsibility.
