लक्ष्मणगुणवर्णनम् — Lakshmana’s Vigil and Guha’s Testimony

यो न देवासुरैस्सर्वैश्शक्यः प्रसहितुं युधि।तं पश्य गुह संविष्टं तृणेषु सह सीतया।।।।

yo na devāsuraiḥ sarvaiḥ śakyaḥ prasahituṃ yudhi | taṃ paśya guha saṃviṣṭaṃ tṛṇeṣu saha sītayā ||

O Guha, look—Rāma, whom all gods and demons together cannot withstand in battle, now lies resting upon mere grass, with Sītā beside him.

O Guha! behold Rama, whom gods and demons combined cannot withstand in a battle now lying on a bed of grass with Sita.

Dharma is restrained power: the mightiest warrior accepts hardship without complaint, showing that true strength serves righteousness, not luxury.

Lakṣmaṇa points out to Guha the contrast between Rāma’s invincibility in war and his simple resting on grass during exile.

Rāma’s humility and adherence to dharma—accepting exile’s austerities while remaining supremely capable.
