Shloka 2.83.23

अयोध्याकाण्डे त्र्यशीति तमः सर्गः — Bharata’s Departure and Encampment on the Gaṅgā (Śṛṅgīberapura)

निवेशयत मे सैन्यमभिप्रायेण सर्वतः।विश्रान्ताः प्रतरिष्यामश्श्व इदानीमिमां नदीम्।।2.83.23।।

niveśayata me sainyamabhiprāyeṇa sarvataḥ | viśrāntāḥ pratariṣyāmaśśva idānīmimāṃ nadīm ||

Encamp my army all around according to their convenience. Having rested now, we shall cross this river tomorrow.

You may, according to your convenience, halt the army anywhere here and, after taking rest (for the night), we shall cross the river Ganga tomorrow.

Bharata recognized the need for his soldiers to rest (viśrāntāḥ) after the march before attempting the strenuous task of crossing the river Ganga.
