May Padmā Śrī (Lakṣmī) favor you, since you speak thus—wishing to hand over the earth, the kingdom, to the king’s eldest son.
O best among men, inherit this stable kingdom of your ancestors, get yourself consecrated and save us.
Renunciation aligned with truth is celebrated: giving rightful authority to the rightful heir is treated as dharmic merit worthy of divine favor.
The people bless Bharata when they hear his intention to yield sovereignty to Rāma.
Selflessness and fidelity to rightful succession: Bharata’s refusal of power is praised as a sign of inner prosperity (śrī).
