भरतस्य राज्यत्यागः तथा रामानयनप्रतिज्ञा (Bharata Rejects Kingship and Vows to Bring Rama Back)
अभिषेचनिकं चैव सर्वमेतदुपस्कृतम्।पुरस्कृत्य गमिष्यामि रामहेतोर्वनं प्रति।।2.79.10।।
abhiṣecanikaṃ caiva sarvam etad upaskṛtam |
puraskṛtya gamiṣyāmi rāmahetoḥ vanaṃ prati ||
All the articles for the royal consecration have been prepared; setting them at the fore, I will go to the forest for Rāma’s sake.
I shall go to the forest to (bring back) Rama, with all these articles, procured for coronation kept in front.
Dharma as rightful succession: Bharata treats kingship as a duty aligned with truth (satya) and legitimacy, not personal gain.
Bharata declares he will go to the forest carrying the coronation materials to install Rāma.
Renunciation of self-interest and loyalty to truth: Bharata refuses to profit from an unrighteous outcome.
