अयोध्याकाण्डे पञ्चसप्ततितमः सर्गः (Sarga 75: Bharata and Kausalya—Reproach, Oaths, and Reconciliation)
परिपालयमानस्य राज्ञो भूतानि पुयत्रवत्।ततस्नु दुह्यतां पापं यस्याऽर्योऽनुमते गतः।।।।
paripālayamānasya rājño bhūtāni putravat |
tatas tu druhyatāṁ pāpaṁ yasyāryo 'numate gataḥ ||
May sin come upon the one by whose counsel my noble brother was exiled—like the sin incurred by a man who betrays a king who protects his subjects as a father guards his own children.
May the one who counselled the exile of my esteemed brother acquire the sin in the same way as a man acting treacherously against a king who rules like a father and protects his subjects like his own children, acquires.
Betrayal of a protector—especially a righteous king who treats subjects like children—is a grave adharma and brings moral consequence.
Bharata continues a series of condemnations, equating the counsel behind Rāma’s exile with treason against a benevolent ruler.
Loyalty to rightful authority and protective kingship (rājadharma), upheld by Bharata’s moral outrage at betrayal.
