Shloka 2.75.18

अयोध्याकाण्डे पञ्चसप्ततितमः सर्गः (Sarga 75: Bharata and Kausalya—Reproach, Oaths, and Reconciliation)

पपात चरणौ तस्यास्तदा सम्भ्रान्तचेतनः।विलप्य बहुधाऽसंज्ञो लब्धसंज्ञस्ततः स्थितः।।।।

papāta caraṇau tasyās tadā sambhrāntacetanaḥ | vilapya bahudhā 'saṃjño labdhasaṃjñas tataḥ sthitaḥ ||

Then, his mind reeling, he fell at her feet; lamenting again and again, he lost consciousness, and then, regaining awareness, he stood there.

(Having heard these words), his senses reeling, he became unconscious, lamented profusaly and fell at her feet. And on regaining his senses, he stood motionless.

Even when wrongly accused, Bharata upholds maryādā—respect toward elders—shown by falling at Kausalyā’s feet rather than responding with anger.

Overwhelmed by Kausalyā’s accusations and grief, Bharata collapses, laments, briefly loses consciousness, and then recovers.

Bharata’s humility and reverence toward his mother-figure, alongside emotional sincerity.
