भरतस्य दूतसमागमः तथा केकयराजनः अनुज्ञा (Bharata Meets the Messengers; Kekaya King Grants Leave)
बभूव ह्यस्य हृदये चिन्ता सुमहती तदा।त्वरया चापि दूतानां स्वप्नस्यापि च दर्शनात्।।2.70.25।।
imāni ca mahārhāṇi vastrāṇy ābharaṇāni ca |
pratigṛhya viśālākṣa mātulasya ca dāpaya ||2.70.4||
O large-eyed prince, accept these precious garments and ornaments, and have them presented as well to your maternal uncle.
Then his heart was filled with extreme anxiety due to the haste of the messengers to depart and also due to the dream he had.
Dharma appears as proper honoring of kin and elders through respectful gifting and formal courtesies, sustaining social harmony and gratitude.
As Bharata prepares to leave Kekaya, the messengers instruct him regarding valuable items to be accepted and appropriately presented within his maternal family.
Courtesy and familial propriety—Bharata is expected to maintain respectful relations through appropriate conduct and gifts.
