Shloka 2.70.15
भरतस्य दूतसमागमः तथा केकयराजनः अनुज्ञा (Bharata Meets the Messengers; Kekaya King Grants Leave)
राजन् पितुर्गमिष्यामि सकाशं दूतचोदितः।पुनरप्यहमेष्यामि यदा मे त्वं स्मरिष्यसि।।2.70.15।।
rājan! pitur gamiṣyāmi sakāśaṃ dūtacoditaḥ | punar apy aham eṣyāmi yadā me tvaṃ smariṣyasi ||2.70.15||
O King, urged by the messengers, I shall go into my father’s presence. And whenever you think of me, I will come again.
O king, urged by these messengers I wish to go to my father. I shall come back again (from Ayodhya) whenever you remember me.
Responsiveness to rightful summons and filial duty: Bharata treats the message as an obligation and moves toward his father without delay, aligning personal action with family responsibility.
While Bharata is in Kekaya, messengers arrive from Ayodhya; Bharata tells his maternal grandfather that he must go to his father and will return when remembered.
Bharata’s dutifulness and reliability—he promptly accepts the call and reassures his elder with steadfast commitment.
