भरतस्य दूतसमागमः तथा केकयराजनः अनुज्ञा (Bharata Meets the Messengers; Kekaya King Grants Leave)
एवमुक्तास्तु ते दूताः भरतेन महात्मना।ऊचुस्सप्रश्रयं वाक्यमिदं तं भरतं तदा।।2.70.11।।
evam uktās tu te dūtāḥ bharatena mahātmanā |
ūcuḥ sapraśrayaṃ vākyam idaṃ taṃ bharataṃ tadā || 2.70.11 ||
Thus addressed by the magnanimous Bharata, the messengers then spoke to him these words with due humility and respect.
Having listened to the words of that magnanimous Bharata, those messengers addressed him gracefully with these words.
Dharma in communication: important truth should be delivered with humility and proper decorum, especially in royal and familial matters.
After Bharata’s questions, the messengers prepare to deliver their report, framed by respectful courtly speech.
