भरतस्य दुःस्वप्नदर्शनम् — Bharata’s Ominous Dream
तमब्रवीत्प्रियसखो भरतं सखिभिर्वृतम्।सुहृद्भिः पर्युपासीनः किं सखे नानुमोदसे।।।।
evaṃ bruvāṇaṃ suhṛdaṃ bharataḥ pratyuvāca ha |
śṛṇu tvaṃ yan-nimittaṃ me dainyam etad upāgatam ||
Thus addressed by his friend, Bharata replied: “Listen—this is the reason why such desolation has come upon me.”
Addressing Bharata amidst his companions some one close among them said O friend! why are you dejected in spite of being in the company of friends.
Satya as dharma: Bharata chooses honest explanation rather than concealment, enabling right counsel and appropriate action.
Bharata begins explaining the cause of his despair to his concerned friend(s).
Candor and seriousness—Bharata openly names the cause of his inner turmoil.
