Shloka 2.63.17
दशरथस्य शोकानुचिन्तनं शब्धवेधि-दोषस्मरणं च (Daśaratha’s grief, karmic reflection, and the remembered ‘śabdavedhī’ misdeed)
क्लिन्न पक्षोत्तरास्स्नाताः कृच्छ्रादिव पतत्रिणः।वृष्टिवातावधूताग्रान्पादपानभिपेदिरे।।2.63.17।।
uṣṇam antardadhe sadyaḥ snigdhā dadṛśire ghanāḥ | tato jahṛṣire sarve bhekasāraṅgabarhiṇaḥ || 2.63.16 ||
At once the heat vanished, and glossy rain-clouds appeared. Then all rejoiced—frogs, geese, and peacocks.
The birds with their plummage moistened as if they had dipped in water reached with great difficulty the tops of the trees which were shaken by the wind and rain.
Dharma aligns with harmony: when oppressive conditions end, life naturally returns to balance—suggesting that righteous order supports flourishing for all beings.
The monsoon arrives: the oppressive heat subsides, clouds gather, and creatures associated with rain respond with joy.
Attentiveness to signs and seasons—an awareness valued in a ruler and hunter alike, who must act responsibly within nature’s rhythms.
