Then the valiant Lakṣmaṇa, cutting reed-stems and jambu branches, made a comfortable seat for Sītā.
The valiant Lakshmana cut the stems of reeds and branches of the Jambu tree to prepare a comfortable seat for Sita (on that float).
Dharma is service (sevā) and protection of the vulnerable: Lakṣmaṇa ensures Sītā’s comfort and safety even in hardship.
As they prepare to cross the river, Lakṣmaṇa arranges a proper seat for Sītā on the float.
Selfless service and attentiveness—Lakṣmaṇa’s readiness to support Sītā without seeking recognition.
