Shloka 2.50.4
गङ्गादर्शनम् तथा गुहसमागमः (Vision of the Gaṅgā and Meeting with Guha)
ततो रुधिरताम्राक्षो भुजमुद्यम्य दक्षिणम्।अश्रुपूर्णमुखो दीनोऽब्रवीज्जानपदं जनम्।।2.50.4।।
tato rudhiratāmrākṣo bhujaṃ udyamya dakṣiṇam | aśrupūrṇamukho dīno ’bravīj jānapadaṃ janam || 2.50.4 ||
Then, dejected, his face brimming with tears and his eyes copper-red, he raised his right arm and spoke to the countryfolk gathered there.
He looked miserable, his copper-red eyes filled with tears. He raised his right handand said to the villagers who had come to see him:
Truth-bound endurance: Rama bears grief yet proceeds in rightful conduct, speaking openly to the people while remaining committed to the demands of satya and duty.
Rama, overwhelmed with sorrow, prepares to address the gathered country people during the exile episode.
