सुमित्रोपदेशः — Sumitra’s Consolation to Kausalya

अरण्यवासे यद्दुःखं जानती वै सुखोचिता।अनुगच्छति वैदेही धर्मात्मानं तवात्मजम्।।।।

araṇyavāse yad duḥkhaṃ jānatī vai sukhocitā |

anugacchati vaidehī dharmātmānaṃ tavātmajam ||

Sītā, princess of Videha—though accustomed to comfort—knowing the hardship of forest-dwelling, has followed your righteous son.

The daughter of Videha (Sita) who was used to comforts has knowingly followed your virtuous son into the hardships of forest life.

S
Sītā (Vaidehī)
R
Rāma

Dharma is shown as steadfast companionship and duty: Sītā knowingly accepts hardship to uphold marital and righteous commitment alongside Rāma.

Rāma is departing for forest exile, and Sumantrā reports to Daśaratha that Sītā has chosen to accompany him despite the suffering involved.

Sītā’s courage and devotion (steadfastness in dharma) are emphasized—she chooses principle over comfort.
