अयोध्यायाः शोकप्रकम्पः (Ayodhya’s Tremor of Grief and Omens)
कौशल्यायां महातेजा यथा मातरि वर्तते।तथा यो वर्ततेऽस्मासु महात्मा क्व नु गच्छति।।2.41.4।।

Where has that radiant, great-souled one gone now—he who treated us just as he treated his mother Kausalyā?
Where is he, that effulgent, magnanimous one who treated us (with the same respect) as he treated his mother Kausalya, going now?
Dharma here is maryādā and equal respect: Rāma honors his own mother and extends the same respectful conduct to the other queens—ethical consistency within the family.
The palace women mourn Rāma’s departure and recall his exemplary behavior toward all the royal mothers.
Rāma’s filial reverence and impartial courtesy—he maintains dignity and respect across relationships.
