“Ah, Lakṣmaṇa—your purpose is fulfilled, for you will serve your godlike brother, ever gentle in speech.”

With your desires fulfilled, O Lakshmana, you will attend to your god-like brother who always speaks pleasant words.

L
Lakṣmaṇa
R
Rāma

Dharma is devoted service to the righteous: Lakṣmaṇa’s fulfilment lies in serving Rāma, aligning personal desire with duty and virtue.

As Rāma heads to exile, Lakṣmaṇa accompanies him; the onlookers praise Lakṣmaṇa’s fortune in being able to serve Rāma closely.

Lakṣmaṇa’s loyalty (anurāga) and service-mindedness (sevā-bhāva), expressed as joyful commitment rather than mere obligation.
