Hearing that her son’s consecration as heir-apparent would be performed under the Puṣya constellation, she meditated—through breath-control—upon Janārdana, the Supreme Lord.
Having heard that installation of her son as heir-apparent was planned in Pushya constellation, Kausalya was meditating upon the Supreme Person, Lord Visnu by controlling her breath (Pranayama).
Dharma as alignment of worldly duty with spiritual truth: the coming political rite is framed through devotion, self-control, and remembrance of the Supreme.
Kauśalyā, hearing of the scheduled consecration in Puṣya, practices prāṇāyāma and meditates on Viṣṇu.
Spiritual discipline (yoga) and faith—Kauśalyā responds to joyful news with devotion rather than mere excitement.
