Vaidehī also wishes that a couch—covered with an exquisite spread and adorned with many kinds of gems—be entrusted to you and placed in your keeping.
Sita also wishes to give away a couch with an exquisite cover, encrusted with a variety of precious stones.
The verse highlights aparigraha—refusing possessiveness. Sītā treats luxury as non-essential and ensures it is responsibly transferred rather than hoarded.
As preparations for forest-exile proceed, Sītā arranges for palace furnishings and valuables to be entrusted or given away.
Orderly renunciation: Sītā’s practical wisdom in letting go of comforts while maintaining dignity and social responsibility.
