द्वात्रिंशस्सर्गः — Gifts to Suyajna and the Brahmins; Trijata’s Petition and Rama’s Charity
तत स्सभार्य स्त्रिजटो महामुनिर्गवामनीकं प्रतिगृह्य मोदितः।यशोबलप्रीतिसुखोपबृंहणीस्तदाशिष: प्रत्यवदन्महात्मनः।।।।
tataḥ sa-bhāryaḥ strijaṭo mahāmunir gavām anīkaṃ pratigṛhya moditaḥ |
yaśo-bala-prīti-sukhopabṛṃhaṇīs tad āśiṣaḥ pratyavadan mahātmanaḥ ||
Thereafter the great sage Strijaṭa, together with his wife, gladly accepted a multitude of cows and then returned blessings to the noble Rāma—blessings that increase fame, strength, affection, and happiness.
Thereafter that great sage Trijata along with his wife, immensely happy to receive multitudes of cows, pronounced blessings on the magnanimous Rama for glory, power, pleasure and prosperity.
Dharma is the sacred reciprocity between giver and worthy recipient: generous giving (especially of cows) is met with blessings that sustain social and spiritual order.
A great sage accepts Rāma’s gift of many cows and responds with auspicious benedictions for Rāma’s well-being and honor.
Rāma’s dhārmic generosity and the sage’s graciousness in acknowledging the gift through blessings.
