लक्ष्मणस्य वनानुगमन-प्रतिज्ञा तथा आयुध-संग्रहः (Lakshmana’s Vow to Follow Rama and the Retrieval of Divine Weapons)
यदर्थं प्रतिषेधो मे क्रियते गन्तुमिच्छतः।एतदिच्छामि विज्ञातुं संशयो हि ममानघ।।।।
yadarthaṃ pratiṣedho me kriyate gantum icchataḥ | etad icchāmi vijñātuṃ saṃśayo hi mamānagha ||
O sinless one, I wish to know for what reason I am being restrained, even though I desire to go; for this has indeed raised doubt in my mind.
I wish to know, O sinless one, the reason why you are dissuading me, when I am willing to go with you. This creates a doubt in my mind.
Dharma includes transparent reasoning in decisions: Lakshmaṇa asks for truthful clarification so that action may proceed without suspicion or confusion.
Lakshmaṇa presses Rāma to explain why he is being prevented from accompanying him to the forest.
Earnest truth-seeking and moral seriousness—he refuses to act under uncertainty when duty is at stake.
