लक्ष्मणस्य वनानुगमन-प्रतिज्ञा तथा आयुध-संग्रहः (Lakshmana’s Vow to Follow Rama and the Retrieval of Divine Weapons)
रामस्त्वनेन वाक्येन सुप्रीतः प्रत्युवाच तम्।व्रजापृच्छस्व सौमित्रे सर्वमेव सुहृज्जनम्।।।।
bhavāṃs tu saha vaidehyā girisānuṣu raṃsyate | ahaṃ sarvaṃ kariṣyāmi jāgrataḥ svapataś ca te ||
You, with Vaidehī, may find delight upon the mountain slopes; I will do everything for you—whether you are awake or asleep.
Pleased with his words Rama said, O Lakshmana! go and take leave of all your friends.
Unbroken duty: dharma as continuous care—Lakṣmaṇa vows constant service, ensuring Rāma and Sītā can live without anxiety.
Lakṣmaṇa promises round-the-clock support in exile, taking on all burdens so Rāma can focus on righteous conduct and Sītā’s wellbeing.
Vigilance and self-effacement—he places others’ comfort above his own rest.
