Shloka 2.30.10
सीताया वनानुगमननिश्चयः — Sita’s Resolve to Accompany Rama to the Forest
स मामनादाय वनं न त्वं प्रस्थातुमर्हसि।तपो वा यदि वाऽरण्यं स्वर्गो वा स्यात्सह मे त्वया।।2.30.10।।
na ca me bhavitā tatra kaścit pathi pariśramaḥ |
pṛṣṭhatas tava gacchantyā vihāraśayaneṣv iva ||
And for me there will be no hardship on the road; walking behind you, it will be as though I were on a joyful outing or reclining upon a couch.
You should not depart for the forest without taking me. Be it for penance or for the forest or for heaven, I wish to be with you.
Dharma as willing endurance: Sītā upholds truthfulness of intention—she chooses hardship knowingly and treats it as light when it serves a righteous commitment.
Sītā reassures Rama that travel and discomfort will not burden her if she is with him.
Courage and resilience—she expresses inner strength by redefining hardship through devotion and purpose.
