lakṣaṇibhyo dvijātibhyaḥ śrutvāhaṃ vacanaṃ purā | vanavāsakṛtotsāhā nityam eva mahābala ||
O mighty one, long ago, having heard the words of the twice-born palm-readers, I have ever since been steadfastly resolved for life in the forest.
O mighty hero! ever since I heard the prophesies from the brahmin palmists I am yearning to dwell in the forest.
Dharma is shown as preparedness to do what must be done: Sītā presents her long-standing readiness for vanavāsa as a disciplined acceptance of duty and truth.
Sītā explains that prophetic statements heard earlier made her mentally prepared for forest life, so she will not be deterred now.
Determination—Sītā’s sustained resolve to share exile rather than remain behind.
