सीताया वनगमननिश्चयः — Sita’s Resolve to Accompany Rama to the Forest
एवमुक्ता तु सा चिन्तां मैथिली समुपागता।स्नापयन्तीव गामुष्णैरश्रुभिर्नयनच्युतैः।।।।
evaṃ bahuvidhaṃ taṃ sā yācate gamanaṃ prati | nānumene mahābāhus tāṃ netuṃ vijanaṃ vanam ||
Though she begged him in many ways about going, the mighty-armed one would not consent to take her to the lonely forest.
Thus spoken to (prevented), Sita was filled with grief and cried, drenching the ground with warm tears that fell from her eyes.
Rāma’s reluctance reflects protective duty and prudence: dharma includes safeguarding loved ones, even when they demand to share hardship.
The narration summarizes Sītā’s repeated pleas and Rāma’s continued refusal to take her into exile.
