सीताया वनगमननिश्चयः — Sita’s Resolve to Accompany Rama to the Forest
कृतादेशा भविष्यामि गमिष्यामि सह त्वया।कालश्चायं समुत्पन्न स्सत्यवाग्भवतु द्विजः।।।।
kṛtādeśā bhaviṣyāmi gamiṣyāmi saha tvayā | kālaś cāyaṃ samutpannaḥ satyavāg bhavatu dvijaḥ || 2.29.11 ||
I shall fulfill the command; I shall go with you. This is the appointed time—let the brahmin who foretold it be proved true to his words.
I will go with you, true to the prediction of the brahmin. That time has come and let his prediction come to pass.
The verse ties dharma to satya: Sītā accepts the command and invokes the moral force of truthfulness—words spoken (especially by a seer) should be fulfilled.
Sītā strengthens her decision by referencing an earlier prediction and declaring the time for its fulfillment has arrived.
Truth-alignment and duty-mindedness—Sītā’s desire to act in a way that confirms truthful speech and accepted obligations.
