Shloka 2.26.4

अयोध्याकाण्डे षड्विंशः सर्गः — Rama’s Departure and Sita’s Questions; Disclosure of Exile and Counsel on Courtly Conduct

देवकार्यं स्वयं कृत्वा कृतज्ञा हृष्टचेतना।अभिज्ञा राजधर्माणां राजपुत्रं प्रतीक्षते।।।।

sā tvaṃ vaseha kalyāṇi rājñaḥ samanuvartinī |

bharatasya ratā dharme satyavrata-parāyaṇā ||

Therefore, O auspicious one, dwell here in obedience to the king—devoted to Bharata’s dharma, steadfast in truth and in sacred vows.

Experienced in palace rituals, Sita, grateful (to God) after performing worship of the deities was awaiting in a happy mood the arrival of the prince.

Dharma and satya are upheld through loyal adherence to rightful governance and personal integrity through vows.

Rāma asks Sītā to remain in Ayodhyā and live in alignment with Bharata’s kingship while he goes to the forest.

Steadfastness in truth (satya-niṣṭhā) and disciplined conduct (vrata), expressed through respectful obedience.
