कौशल्याया मङ्गलविधानम् — Kausalya’s Benedictions and Protective Rites for Rama
साऽवनीय तमायासमुपस्पृश्य जलं शुचिः।चकार माता रामस्य मङ्गलानि मनस्विनी।।2.25.1।।
sā ’vanīya tam āyāsam upaspṛśya jalaṃ śuciḥ | cakāra mātā rāmasya maṅgalāni manasvinī || 2.25.1 ||
Rama’s high-minded mother, restraining her intense anguish, performed ācamana with water to become ritually pure, and then carried out auspicious rites for Rama.
High-minded mother Kausalya, her anguish subdued, performed the sipping rite (achamana) and her self rendered pure, performed auspicious ceremonies for Rama.
Dharma expressed as disciplined conduct in crisis—maintaining purity, prayer, and auspicious intention even amid grief.
Before Rāma departs for exile, Kausalyā steadies herself and performs rites meant to protect and bless him.
Self-control (saṃyama) and faith—channeling sorrow into protective action.
